THANK YOU EVERYONE

John Leeson with PudseyWe would like to pass on our grateful thanks to everyone who supported our fundraising in 2008. With your kind generosity it has helped us reach a staggering £15,000 for this years BBC Children In Need Appeal - a record amount! This has been made possible thanks to the many venues who have hosted our characters throughout 2008 such as the Cambridge Science Festival, the Libraries in Hanley, Birmingham, South Shields and Ashton, Lakeside Shopping Centre, Blaenavon Town Centre and special thanks to Spaceport Merseyside for all their support. This amazing achievement is also due to the hard work, dedication and support from the members of Hyde Fundraisers who have travelled thousands of miles to bring our characters to life. We hope you will all continue to support our fundraising in 2009. Thank You

MONSTER DESIGNS

When Cheryl met LouiseThe launch of the Spaceport Dr Who exhibition provided the perfect opportunity for one of Hyde Fundraisers costumiers - Cheryl Mellor (Pictured left) - to meet up with Dr Who series costume designer Louise Page. Cheryl has already contributed character costumes for the female Clockwork Droid, Auton Bride and Revenge style Cybermen along with adjustments to our Pig Guard boilersuits!

THE ART OF DR WHO Exhibition opened on May 23rd and showcases many of Louise's costumes created for Dr Who!

REVENGE IS THEIRS!
Hyde Fundraisers filming for EastendersAfter numerous press reports and magazine articles we can confirm that in Valentine Week HYDE FUNDRAISERS appeared in episodes of EASTENDERS. You will see 4 of our REVENGE style Cybermen feature in an episode which was filmed in late November/early December. Filming took place in studio and outside the impressive St Paul's Cathedral - known for that famous scene from Patrick Troughton's story THE INVASION. They appeared descending the steps of St Pauls Cathedral on the Valentines Day episode. This was followed on the Friday with further appearances within the TIMELORD REMEMBERED Convention/Exhibition set up. The Dr Who backdrop served to play out the conclusion of the Stacy/Bradley relationship.
HELP THE AGED - WE DID!
In April 2007 our Honorary member - Neill Gorton of Millenium FX - nominated Help The Aged as our second benefitting charity. Between April and November all our fundraising was divided between both Help The Aged and Children In Need, events outside these months were Help The Aged - we did thanks to you!benefitting the latter. Having such a successful year helped BBC Children In Need with £8,500 but we have also raised a fantastic £5,500 for Help The Aged. On January 16th Millenium FX hosted a presentation to Tim Harman - Southern Area co-ordinator for Help the Aged - where members Sp Bowling, Mike Bargh and Neill Gorton presented our cheque. We would like to thank everyone who supported Hyde Fundraisers throughout 2007 to help us raise these fantastic amounts to help the work of these charities. We hope you will continue your support through 2008 and beyond.
